Information Integrity Research Network (University of Glasgow)

A College of Social Sciences interdisciplinary research network bringing together Glasgow researchers working on misinformation, disinformation, conspiracy theories and information disorder. It is co-convened by J. Adam Carter (Philosophy, COGITO), Lluis de Nadal (Sociology), Aykut Öztürk (Politics) and Yvonne Skipper (Psychology and Education). COGITO contributes the network's epistemology strand. The network runs regular Insights Sessions and an annual interdisciplinary workshop, and its white paper on media literacy was published by Ofcom among the responses to its 2025 consultation.

AI and Healthcare UofG Interdisciplinary Series

A year-long series of interdisciplinary workshops convened by Professor Gerard Graham, Dean of Research in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, with J. Adam Carter and Emma C. Gordon of COGITO on its steering group alongside clinicians, medical educators and health economists. Seven workshops across 2026–27 cover definitions, AI in medical care, AI in medical education, data use and ownership, health inequalities, health economics, and public and patient engagement, leading to a University white paper on AI in healthcare.

COGITO–CERN collaboration (in development)

COGITO's Head of Impact, Matthew Jope, is developing a joint event with CERN on trust in science, trust in expertise and science communication, with Michela Massimi (Edinburgh) involved. Details will be announced on this site.

Cogito runs empirically-informed epistemological research. To this effect, it has a suite of collaborations with other research centres nationally and internationally, and works closely with an interdisciplinary advisory group:
