DOUBT, DISTRUST AND DISINFORMATION
COGITO EPISTEMOLOGY RESEARCH CENTRE

@ UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW

In the 2026–27 academic year COGITO is hosting an interdisciplinary seminar series exploring how doubt and distrust are cultivated, and the effects they have, from the level of individual cognition to societal (dys)function. Speakers from philosophy, psychology and neuroscience, politics and sociology present work on conspiratorial thinking, bias and prejudice, navigating trust online, the cognitive and social effects of generative AI, and the effects of mis- and disinformation on our political environments.

Seminars are on Thursdays, 3–5pm, in room 386AB, Adam Smith Building.
