COGITO - ECKIR
DOCTORAL TRAINING PROGRAMME
In June 2021, Cogito put in place its pan-European, cross-university Doctoral Training Programme, in collaboration with ECKIR - The European Consortium for Knowledge and Information Research. The ECKIR is aimed at furthering a well-informed society via facilitating the creation and dissemination of first-rate work in contemporary analytic epistemology. The ECKIR is constituted by prestigious research centres from 8 European universities, conducting cutting edge research in the nature of knowledge and information.
The Cogito-ECKIR Doctoral Training Programme involves three pillars: (1) co-supervision of PhD students between researchers from Cogito and other ECKIR member research clusters; (2) job market training for the European area, including: publication strategies, networking, applying for a postdoc in Europe; (3) reciprocal research visits of PhD students between Cogito and other ECKIR members.
ECKIR regularly hosts major international epistemology events, holds an ongoing epistemology speaker series, and has a thriving epistemology PhD and Postdoc pan-European community.
Funders supporting the Cogito-ECKIR Doctoral Programme include: European Research Council, UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council, Leverhulme Trust, Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation, Swiss National Science Foundation, Danish National Research Foundation, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
